Brian Tepper, MPS, ATR-BC, ATCS, LCAT
Brian Tepper has been a practicing art therapist since 1997. Brian earned his undergraduate BFA degree in 1992 from SVA and his master's degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Pratt Institute in 1996. His career started at the Bellevue Hospital adolescent psychiatric unit in New York City. In 2001, he left Bellevue for the Jersey City Public Schools. From there he was instrumental in creating a widely recognized art therapy program in the Jersey City Public Schools. Brian also served as a clinical supervisor at School of Visual Arts from 9/11 thru 5/16. He currently serves as the treasurer of the New Jersey Art Therapy Association and is a very active and involved member of the American Art Therapy Association. He has been serving on the conference committee for several years as the Arts Chair and then the Special Sessions Chair. He has presented throughout his career in NY, NJ and various art therapy conferences. Publications include Art Therapy in the School System; School of Visual Arts; Masks, Puppets, and Video: A Quick Experiential, Efficacy of Creative Arts Therapies in an Urban School District, American Art Therapy Association; and Katrina's Children No Place Like Home; National Association for Drama Therapy. A talented sculptor, Brian has exhibited at several galleries including The Belskie Museum of Art and Science, The Gallery of the Presbyterian Church, Franklin Lakes, NJ; Riverdale Art Center, NJ; International Granite Sculpture Symposium, Geochang, South Korea; Broome Street Gallery; Weill Cornell Medical Library; Green Trees Gallery, Northfield, MA; and the Art Center of Estes Park Gallery in Colorado. In addition, Brian is an avid skier and race coach with the National Winter Activity Center in Vernon, NJ.


This session will provide the opportunity for participants to discuss experiences working within the school setting. We will address the needs of the participants, explore challenges, and provide the venue in which to share success stories. Space to discuss and analyze case studies will be available.
