Dr. Katherine Jackson is an associate professor at Ursuline College in the Counseling and Art therapy program. She is the director of the service learning program at Ursuline College and has taken students on art therapy service learning trips to El Salvador, Ecuador, South Dakota, Africa, Nepal, Hungary,Peru and Tanzania. Dr. Jackson is also in private practice in Cleveland Ohio where she sees individuals and families with a variety of issues.

Dr. Megan Seaman is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling and Art Therapy Department at Ursuline College. Her clinical interests include client-centered therapeutic practices (such as family systems therapy, existential therapy, music and creative healing therapies), yoga therapy, mindfulness training, and career development.
Using art as relationship building tools while participating in service learning trips to developing countries has proven effective to increase multicultural competence and awareness. Graduate students and art therapy professionals were surveyed using the Multicultural Counseling Inventory (MCI) to determine cultural competence before and after a service learning trip.
