Deborah Fung, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT, (NYC) has a special interest in early childhood trauma and immigrant families navigating the challenges of growing up with dual cultural expectations. Deborah completed her M.A. at George Washington University in 2000 and is a registered provider of CPP and TripleP evidence based models of psychotherapy. Deborah maintains a studio practice in Nihonga painting. =

Irina Derkacheva, MPS, ATR-BC
Irina Derkacheva received her Masters degree in art therapy in 2012 from School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. In 2011 she became the recipient of the Estelle Bellomo Award for Excellence in Art Therapy. Irina is currently working with adolescent offenders in one of NYC correctional facilities. Along with her colleague Stephanie Syfert, she developed and implemented Animation Art Therapy program at School of Visual Arts. The program promotes the use of stop-motion animation as a therapeutic technique and encourages cooperation between graduate art therapy students and community-based agencies. Irina developed and conducted the first stage of an international project To Russia With Love and Art Therapy, which aims to introduce art therapy approaches to Russian art therapists and to promote professional and cultural exchange between Russian and American colleagues. =


Presenters will provide a brief overview of an evidence-based trauma treatment model, Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Art therapists will present case vignettes illustrating the use of art therapy within the CPP treatment model. Participants will learn interventions that effectively correlated with CPP treatment goals. =
