Ellie Nicol, Art Therapist
Ellie Seibel-Nicol, M.A., ATR-BC is a Clinical Art Therapist with over 30 years serving children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. She is certified in both Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EFT Tapping for Trauma. Ellie is a past president of the Connecticut Art Therapy Association (CATA) and a former Director on the Board of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). Her work with traumatized children from Sandy Hook has been published in Creative Interventions for Traumatized Children .

I am currently in my last year of graduate school at Albertus Magnus College and am looking forward to being in the field! My passion lies in being able to join art and art therapy with travel.


This paper will present the experience of bringing art therapy to a community that does not have access to many art materials or therapists. We will touch on cultural differences, as well as the process of developing directives that suited the needs of this community.
