Linda Gantt, PhD, ATR-BC, HLM, is the co-owner of the ITR Training Institute, Morgantown, WV. She has presented nationally and internationally on art therapy in trauma treatment and the Instinctual Trauma Response as well as on the Formal Elements Art Therapy Scale (FEATS) that she and Carmello Tabone developed.
Charlotte Boston, MA, ATR-BC, LCPAT
Charlotte G. Boston, MA, ATR-BC, LCPAT, has provided art therapy services to psychiatric inpatients of all ages for more than 29 years, including the military. She served on AATA committees and the AATA Board of Directors. She has presented and published in art therapy. She is President-elect of the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
Judy Rubin, PhD, ATR-BC, HLM
Judy Rubin, past President and Honorary Life Member of AATA, is the author of six books on art therapy, editor/director of thirteen films, and President of Expressive Media (www.expressivemedia.org). A licensed psychologist, she is on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center.
Paula Howie, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, LCPAT, HLM
Paula Howie, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, LCPAT, HLM directed the Art Therapy Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over 25 years and is now in private practice in Washington, DC. Paula has lectured in Graduate Art Therapy Programs at the George Washington University, the School of the Visual Arts, and at Florida State University. Paula has held many Board positions and is a Past President of AATA from 2005 to 2007. In addition to numerous presentations and publications, she edited a book with Sangeeta Prasad and Jen Kristel in 2013 called "Using Art therapy with Diverse populations: Crossing Cultures and Abilities". Her most recent edited book "Art Therapy with Military and Veteran Populations: History, Innovations, and Applications" was published by Routledge in 2017. In addition to her writing, private practice, and teaching, Paula is an avid watercolor painter.
Cory Olson, MA, ATR-P
Cory Olson graduated in 2018 from Emporia State University with a master’s degree in art therapy counseling. Since then, he has served as the Inpatient Art Therapist for Prairie Care, a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents in Minnesota. Cory facilitates daily open studio groups to promote self-expression, as well as support personal and treatment related goals with patients.
The history of AATA has been punctuated by a variety of controversies and passionate debates. Panelists from four different generations will reflect on how these issues were dealt with. They will give space to the audience to explore processes to deal with disputes in the future.
