Raquel is a former President of the Florida Art Therapy Association. She has been published in the American Journal of Art Therapy and "The Silver Drawing Test and Draw a Story" (2007), in the American Journal of Art Therapy and has presented both nationally and internationally on art therapy with the elderly and art therapy in school settings. She has a private practice and owns and operates an alternative education center in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. She has provided art therapy at inpatient psychiatric units, geriatric day programs and public schools.
The author will describe her role as lead art therapist on a two-year, art therapy-informed public art project funded by a $1M grant. Evaluation methods, collaboration with artists, and the potential for art therapists to develop future public art collaborations will also be discussed.
