Keturah Welton
Keturah is an ATR-BC, LPC in the state of Pennsylvania. She has a Ph.D. in Counseling, Counselor Education, and Supervision. She is the founder and director of an art therapy and counseling practice, Almond Blossoms of Hope, LLC. She is passionate about her work and advocacy of art therapy. She specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance recovery. Her approach focuses on assisting clients to live every day for the positive moments which they desire and promote a form of creative self-expression that emphasizes building stronger, more personal relationships. Through a collaborative counseling and therapeutic journey, Keturah's approach utilizes a variety of client-centered techniques, contemplative practices of mindfulness, meditation, and self-awareness.
Darcy Marlow, MEd, ATR, LMHC
Darcy Marlow is a registered art therapist and licensed mental health counselor in Seattle, Washington. Currently, Marlow has a private art therapy practice on First Hill in Seattle where she works with both adolescents and adults. Darcy Marlow is also teaching faculty at Antioch University Seattle in the art therapy program.
This presentation will describe the application of arts-based research used to explore the experiences of three art therapists participating in a #stitchaday, daily stitch and written journal project. Implications for honoring and celebrating the art therapist professional identity, friendship, self-care, and connectedness will be discussed.
