Veronica is an art therapist working in St Louis, MO. She brings a critical, intersectional-feminist lens to her practice as an art therapist. Currently she is working with adults and adolescents diagnosed with eating disorders.
Rani Cozad, MA
I am an art therapist currently providing services for adult outpatient clients and families in a community mental health setting. I have experience working in substance use treatment, residential psychiatric services, memory care facilities, and school settings. My current research interests include the study art therapy as a trauma intervention for women in substance abuse treatment.
Catherine Moon, MA, ATR-BC
Cathy Moon is a Professor in the Art Therapy Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Author of Studio Art Therapy and editor of Materials and Media in Art Therapy, she is currently co-facilitating a free community art studio in Chicago and a paraprofessional therapeutic arts training program in East Africa.
This focus group will be a space for survivor-therapists to discuss of the code of silence around mental illness, stigma, oppression, and the effects of these on clinical work, professional identity, and personal identity. Participants will discuss intersections of minority status and stigma, strengths of survivor-therapists and anti-oppressive narratives.
