Joseph Scarce MA, MFT, ATR-BC. PhD. Doctoral Candidate. Joseph is an Adjunct Instructor in the BA in Art Therapy Program at the University of Tampa. He Provides In home and community based art therapy services to the Tampa Bay Fl. area. He specializes in treating trauma and works with children in the Oncology and acute Trauma units at St Josephs Hospital. He also specializes in art therapy relief work with survivors of mass violence and natural disasters.

Kessanda Abel , Community Engagement Manager
Kessanda Abel has been a member of the Tampa Museum of Art Education Department since 2013, taking on the role of Community Engagement Manager in 2015. She received a Bachelor of Art in Art History with a minor in French from University of South Florida in 2008. In 2010 she was awarded a Master of Letters with Merit from Christie’s Education, London.


The Tampa Museum of Art and the University of Tampa Art Therapy program engaged in a collaborative effort to develop Art Space. This is a program that provides opportunities for community organizations to bring undeserved populations to a safe environment that connects them with the visual arts.
