Rapinder Kaur, a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist, community organizer, sought after public speaker, board member, clinical supervisor, and facilitator, is fascinated with the idea of using art to disrupt traditional thinking and imagining new possibilities for engaging in the world. She has over 22 years of experience in the mental health field. Rapinder has worked in a number of different settings, including schools, psychiatric hospital, group homes, long term care, social service agencies and is the founder of Art as Therapy, a private therapy practice in Milton and Orangeville Canada.


This dynamic and engaging workshop will explore how power and privilege in relationships and institutions hinder therapeutic work. Presenters will discuss how the framework of cultural humility provides a compelling way to address the inequities when applied in art therapy. Participants will engage in reflective practice through art making.
