Jennifer DeLucia, DAT, ATR-BC, LCAT
Jennifer DeLucia is currently the Director of Creative Arts Therapy at Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts where she is investigating the possibility of establishing a new graduate hybrid program in creative arts therapy at the University. Jennifer will also serve as curator for the gallery in the new National Veterans Resource Complex (NVRC), currently under construction at the University. Jennifer previously led the AmericaServes Community of Practice for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at the University, a national collective impact initiative. Prior to her work at Syracuse, Jennifer served as the director of wellness and supportive services at the Veterans Outreach Center. There she developed the wellness program to incorporate comprehensive art therapy, mental health counseling and case management services. Jennifer earned a doctorate in art therapy from Mt Mary University and was the co-founder and former president of the Western New York Art Therapy Association.
Laura Teoli, PhD, ATR-BC, LPC, LCAT
Laura Teoli is a doctoral candidate at Lesley University. Her dissertation focuses on what happens when group art therapists create art alongside their clients. She is a Visiting Professor of Art Therapy at Nazareth College.
Art therapists integrate beauty and authenticity when working with clients, seeking congruence between words, actions, and non-verbal expression. Art therapists leading in diverse settings find challenges bringing these same principles into leadership roles. Two art therapists entered a year-long companioning process to examine these complexities through art.
