Barbara Parker-Bell, MA, MS, PsyD, ATR-BC, is an Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Art Therapy Program at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. She is a Fulbright Scholar and currently services as the President of the ATCB. She has a doctorate in clinical psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, PA
Given the need for more exploration of art therapists’ application of multicultural competency, the presenter surveyed credentialed art therapists about their practices related to culturally informed methods. Based on survey responses and personal experience, the presenter will reflect on multiculturalism, multicultural competence, and culturally attuned art therapy practices.
